GM apes of the crypto world!
Stand in front of the mirror with your hands on your hips and say, “Looks rare!” 😉
This is CryptoBrew☕️ , your fun source for crypto news. LFG!
Fun fact: The meaning of GM is yet unclear. It’s mostly called “good morning” and sometimes “good move.”
Here are today’s market moves:
Here's what you need to know:
A very strange company is giving away $20 to every human being
So I stumbled upon WorldCoin, a company started by Sam Altman (founder of OpenAI and ex-President of Y Combinator) and his co-founder Alex Blania.
This Orwellian organisation is creating a global currency for every single human being. They are doing this so that they can eradicate centralisation, make decentralised networks even more stronger by giving access to internet and crypto to everyone.
To rapidly get its new currency into the hands of as many people as possible, Worldcoin will allow everyone to claim a share of its token for free.
Sounds good! But there’s a catch.
They want to verify if you are human and not a bot. And they do this with their device called ‘The Orb’ that will scan your eye and verify your identity. No personal info is required and the image of your eye is not stored anywhere. Which further strengthens privacy.
Since the token doesn’t have much value now, they are giving $20 to anyone who scans their eye. Get notified here.
The most expensive NFT on Solana
This incredible render by ThankYouX has broken the record for Solana 1/1 NFTs - selling for 751 SOL ($74,153).
The piece, entitled “Xplore” - was sold to DavinciDAO.
OpenSea is in deep shit 😰
If OpenSea were a public company, I would be keeping my distance from its stock for the foreseeable future.
A third "stolen ape" lawsuit was filed against OpenSea, alleging that Opensea's "security vulnerability allowed an outside party to illegally enter through OpenSea’s code and access the user’s NFT wallet, in order to sell the user’s Bored Ape at a fraction of the value."
Someone was able to buy the Bored Ape for 24.89 ETH (~$60,000)—much less than the 135 ETH (~$332,000) the user had recently listed it at. The scammer then quickly flipped the NFT for resale for 92.9 ETH (~$225,000) within an hour. 😱
This case is very similar to the stolen ape lawsuit filed February 18, which is not surprising because the plaintiffs are using some of the same lawyers.
The cases could potentially reveal the inner workings of OpenSea and invite other suits that the company will be forced to defend against.
