Millions in ETH stolen from OpenSea users
A malicious phishing attack on OpenSea drained vast quantities of NFTs from users’ accounts. Users complained about it being a hack on the marketplace but the devs at OpenSea confirmed that there wasn’t any issue with the platform.
How did this begin? How to stay safe? We answer both these questions below 👇
28 days ago, a scammer uploads a new smart contract. He already knows well that his goal is to get as many signatures as possible.
He starts sending e-mails with phishing websites. The email would be a look-a-like of any OpenSea email alerting the user to take immediate action. They tell you to sign a message to login/migrate to the new OpenSea smart contract.
(As far as I remember, OpenSea doesn’t send any email to users unless you made a sale on your NFT listing.)
Clicking on the email link takes you to your Metamask wallet page that looks like:
You are now signing a private sale (0 ETH) of your NFTs to the scammer.
Today, he executed the smart contract function to steal the NFTs before their listings expire. He can do that because he has your signatures stored on his server and has complete authority over the transaction since you gave him the permission.

Frens, if you were a victim of this attack, sorry for your loss. Please do not click on unknown links.
Here’s a step by step foolproof way to secure your wallet and revoke access to OpenSea:
If on desktop: Go to MetaMask, click the 3 dots, then click on connected sites. Click the trashcan to remove connections to everything.
If mobile: Click the 3 lines on the top left, settings, experimental then view sessions. Hold down the name of each connection and it will pop up to remove.
Next, go to https://etherscan.io/tokenapprovalchecker and revoke access to anything OpenSea or X2Y2 related. Make sure to go through all 3 token types in the different tabs.
You can also use DeBank if etherscan is down.
I suggest not to interact with OpenSea in anyway right now.
Lastly, this goes without saying, don't click on unknown links or share your seed phrase with anyone!
The above steps can be used for any scenario to keep your crypto wallets safe.

Yesterday, Tesla opened a brand new Supercharger in Santa Monica, California, becoming the first station in Tesla's network to accept the cryptocurrency Dogecoin as payment; at this time the station is incomplete.
Tesla Inc. also began accepting Doge for merchandise earlier this year.
The world’s first gamified NFT-enabled festival is about to happen
BlockDown is Coachella + TechCrunch that involves talks on crypto and the metaverse, VIP dinners and beach parties. It’s super futuristic and this year it’s being held in Croatia from May 11 to May 13.
They are selling tickets in the form of NFTs and the event will focus on the exploding phenomenon of Web3, the next evolutionary phase of the internet. The festival will be fully-interactive and gamified, with attendees unlocking points when they have taken part in selected activities and events.
Previous speakers include CZ Binance, Edward Snowden and Sam Bankman-Fried among many others.

Fweb3: This is Wordle but for web3 enthusiasts. A play to earn project where you do task and learn web3 plus get rewarded with tokens and NFTs! Spend the month of February learning crypto using Fweb3.
NFT and crypto games: Quite a few games in the crypto world but some are pay first unfortunately, definitely worth it if you can though. My favourite free games are Cryptoroyale where you earn $ROY. Another free game, Rollercoin which makes your PC into a virtual Bitcoin mining simulator. Pretty cool projects!
