2016 Bitfinex hackers got arrested with 94,000 BTC
According to a U.S. Department of Justice press release, the feds arrested two individuals in New York on Tuesday on charges they conspired to launder proceeds from the Bitfinex hack in 2016. The married couple, Ilya "Dutch" Lichtenstein and Heather Morgan, will appear in court at 3:00 p.m. ET in New York.
Some 120,000 BTC (worth around $60 million back then) was stolen in the 2016 hack. At today's prices, the total amount of Bitcoin stolen is valued at $4.5 billion, but the DOJ only seized about 94,000 BTC valued at $3.6 billion.

Russia ready to recognize crypto as a form of currency
Russian newspaper Kommersant reported this morning, and later tweeted, that the government and the Bank of Russia have reached an agreement on how to regulate cryptocurrencies.
They are now preparing a draft law, expected by February 18, which will define crypto as an “analogue of currencies” rather than as digital financial assets.
Alfa Romeo’s latest car comes with an NFT
Alfa Romeo is building NFTs into its latest hybrid car to record vehicle data. The technology will be used to track and store maintenance records on the blockchain for its new Tonale SUV.
With the customer’s consent, the NFT will record vehicle data, generating a certificate that can be used to assure the car has been properly maintained.
Alchemy is now valued at $10.2 billion
Alchemy is a Web3 startup providing solutions for blockchain developers from APIs to dev tools that makes development on the blockchain easy.
In a short period of time Alchemy was able to raise $200 million which is super impressive cause in October 2021, it was valued at $3.5 billion.
Shib holders will now be able to purchase land within Shiba metaverse
According to a blog post published by the Shiba Inu team on 8th February, lands found within the Shiba Inu metaverse will be “available for purchase/auction really soon.”
