China banned cryptocurrencies, but it’s aping into NFTs
China has cracked down on crypto but now aims to differentiate NFTs from crypto via new blockchain infrastructure. As reported by the South China Morning Post - A government-backed project in China is working on infrastructure that would support businesses and individuals to build platforms and apps to manage NFTs.
Man takes selfie for 4 years, sells them as NFT
An Indonesian man named Ghozali Ghozalo uploaded 933 selfies he took from 2017 – 2021 to OpenSea as a school project - and listed each for roughly $3 per image.
The NFT community took notice, embraced Ghozali and the collection became somewhat of a cultural icon. Ghozali’s selfies have done over 321 ETH ($1.4M) in transaction volume, earning Ghozali well over six-figures in revenue.

US the next Bitcoin super power?
The world’s second largest miner, Kazakhstan’s bitcoin mining industry, was on red alert last week, when the country's internet shut down in the midst of anti-government protests, sparked by rising energy prices.

Bitcoin-related job postings on LinkedIn surged almost 400% in 2021. Job postings with terms “Bitcoin,” “Ethereum,” “blockchain,” and “cryptocurrency” surged 395% in the United States alone.
This is mainly due to newly funded start-ups that are booming in the crypto space. The tech giants are too afraid to pivot quickly.
